Common Bosch Oven Faults

Bosch ovens are built to last, but components do wear over time. Here are the faults we see most often in Brisbane:

Not heating — failed heating element (top, bottom, or ring element), blown thermal fuse, or a faulty oven thermostat. On fan-forced models, a failed fan motor means the element heats but air doesn’t circulate — food cooks unevenly or not at all.

Fan not working — the fan motor has failed, or the capacitor that starts it has blown. You’ll hear the oven click on but the fan stays silent. Without the fan, heat distribution drops dramatically.

Uneven cooking — failing fan motor, damaged element heating only partially, or a faulty temperature sensor sending incorrect readings to the control board.

Door won’t close or seal properly — worn hinges, broken door springs, or a deteriorated door gasket. Heat escapes, the oven works harder, and cooking times increase.

Self-cleaning cycle issues — pyrolytic cleaning locks the door at extremely high temperatures. If the lock motor, latch switch, or control board faults, the door can stay locked after the cycle. We resolve the lock and fix the underlying cause.

Common Bosch Oven Error Codes

E005 — Temperature sensor fault — The oven’s NTC temperature sensor has failed or is reading outside its expected range. The oven won’t heat safely until this is replaced.

E011 — Door lock fault — The pyrolytic door lock motor or switch has failed. The oven may not start, or the door may remain locked after a self-clean cycle.

E305 — Communication error — The control board can’t communicate with the display or user interface. Usually a wiring fault or a failing control module.
