Authorised Warranty Service for Dryers
![]()

Most dryer faults aren’t broken parts — they’re a blocked lint filter, a clogged vent, or a sagging door catch. Before you book a service call, there are five things worth checking yourself. They’re at the top of this page, not buried at the bottom, because if one of them is the fix, you don’t need us.
When the fault really is internal — heating element, drum bearing, control board, sensor — that’s where we come in. Authorised warranty agents for Miele, Bosch and ASKO dryers, with stocked vans dispatched from our Underwood workshop across Greater Brisbane, Ipswich, and the northern Gold Coast.

Five things to check before you book
Worth five minutes, especially for vented and condenser dryers.
1. Pull the lint filter and clean it. Even after a single load. If the filter is blocked, the dryer can’t move enough air to dry properly, the heater cycles off on its thermal cut-out, and you end up running multiple cycles for one load. A blocked filter mimics a “dryer not heating” fault.
2. Check the vent path (vented dryers only). Pull the dryer out, disconnect the duct at the wall, and check it’s not packed with lint. The same goes for any external vent flap or roof vent. A blocked vent is the single most common cause of “won’t dry” service calls. It also creates a fire risk.
3. For condenser and heat pump dryers — empty the water tank and clean the secondary lint filter. Most have a secondary filter behind a removable panel near the drum opening. If it’s blocked with lint and fluff, the heat exchanger can’t shed water properly and the cycle aborts.
4. Check the door catches. Dryers won’t run with the door not fully closed. Worn catches or sagging hinges can register as “door open” mid-cycle and stop the program. Listen for the click when you close the door.
5. Check the breaker. Dryers sit on a dedicated circuit. A tripped breaker is silent — no flickering lights elsewhere. Reset at the switchboard before assuming the dryer itself is dead.
If none of those is the fix, the fault is internal and worth a diagnostic visit.
When the fault really is internal
What we usually find when the dryer needs actual service:
It tumbles but doesn’t heat
Thermal fuse, heating element, or thermostat. The thermal fuse is a one-time safety device — it blows when the dryer overheats (almost always because of a blocked vent). Replace the fuse and the heater works again, but if you don’t fix the vent the new fuse will blow too.
It heats but doesn’t tumble, or makes a thumping noise
Drum support rollers, drive belt, idler pulley, or motor. Heat pump and condenser dryers have more moving parts in this area than vented ones — more to wear out, but also longer service life if maintained.
Squealing or grinding while running
Drum bearings (front or rear support). If caught early, a bearing replacement extends the dryer’s life by years. If left, the drum eventually seizes and damages the cabinet.
Won’t start, won’t stop, or stops mid-cycle without warning
Door switch, control board, or moisture sensor. Modern sensor dryers stop when they think the load is dry — if the sensor is faulty or coated in fabric softener residue, they stop too early or run too long.
Long cycle times even with a clean filter and clear vent
Heat pump compressor low on refrigerant, or a partially blocked condenser. We test the heat output and refrigerant pressure to identify which.
Error code on the display
Each manufacturer codes faults differently. We look up the specific code in the brand’s service documentation before quoting work.
How we work
You book online or call, we confirm a 1-hour arrival window, our technician diagnoses the fault on site, you get a fixed price before any work starts, and most jobs complete on the first visit using parts from the van. For Miele, Bosch, and ASKO dryers under warranty, we lodge the warranty claim direct with the manufacturer — no upfront cost to you for in-warranty repairs.
If the dryer isn’t worth repairing, we tell you straight. A blown thermal fuse on an old vented dryer is one job; a failed compressor on an out-of-warranty heat pump unit is a different conversation, and sometimes the answer is a new dryer rather than the repair.
