When a sensor fails or gives inaccurate readings, the board may “think” the fridge is warmer than it actually is and run the compressor excessively. Damper Control Malfunction

Many frost-free fridges use a damper (air baffle) between the freezer and fridge compartments to regulate cold airflow.
