What to do when F70 appears

Stop using the dishwasher. Do not repeatedly restart it to clear the code.
Close the water supply stopcock if you can reach it without moving the appliance or touching a wet electrical area.
Switch the dishwasher off and disconnect the mains plug only if the plug and surrounding area are safely accessible and dry. Miele says this stops the drain pump. If the plug is behind a built-in appliance or water is near it, do not reach in or pull the dishwasher out.
Record what you can see. Note the model number, when F70 appeared, whether the pump is running and whether there is water on the accessible floor. Photograph the display and any visible leak from a safe position.

Do not remove the bottom access panel, reach into the base tray, tilt the dishwasher, mop inside it, open hidden hose connections or run another test cycle. Queensland’s Electrical Safety Office warns against using damaged or wet electrical equipment and advises professional assessment.

Will switching the dishwasher off clear F70?

Switching off and safely disconnecting the plug can stop the drain pump, as Miele explains. It does not establish or repair the cause of the Waterproof-system activation. Do not run another cycle until the fault has been assessed.

Does F70 mean the drain pump is broken?

No. Miele says the pump switches on when the Waterproof system activates. A running pump is part of the reported fault behaviour, not proof that the pump itself needs replacing.
