Some of you may have experienced the inconvenience of not being able to make a cuppa due to a kaput kettle or you have to go without your morning toast. But while your small appliance can stop working in what seems like a sudden moment of catastrophe, our experience at Always Prompt Appliance Repairs tells there are usually warning signs.
Having many years’ experience of fixing all types of small appliance, from kettles to microwaves, we’ve put together some key signs that all may not be well with your appliance.
This is a very common problem with microwaves and occurs because of a magnetron failure. Unfortunatley, you need to replace the magnetron as it cannot be fixed.
This is probably due to a burned out rotating motor below the plate which is responsible for it spinning. Again, this needs to be replaced.
Once you’ve made sure that your toaster is plugged into a power source and that there are no crumbs obstructing the lever, the next possible reason is that there is a frayed or damaged plug wire. To find this out, just wiggle the wire a little bit – if your toaster works then that’s the problem.
To start, make sure your iron is plugged in… but if it still doesn’t heat up the thermostat may be damaged.
