Common reasons to book a Smeg oven assessment

No heat or uneven heat: record which cooking modes still work and whether the grill or fan behaves differently. An element is one possibility, but controls, sensing and other faults can produce similar symptoms. See our oven heating guide.
Fan noise or no fan: note whether the noise occurs during cooking or during the cooling period after switch-off.
Clock, display or controls: write down the exact message and model code; the meaning of a displayed code can vary by model.
Door, seal or hinge problem: a door that will not close securely needs assessment before further use.
Pyrolytic door remains locked: allow the oven to cool fully and follow the model manual. Do not force the lock or remove panels.

What you can check safely

Confirm the intended cooking mode, clock and timer settings against your Smeg model manual. Take a photo of the model label and note any error message, recent power interruption and the point in the cycle when the fault occurs. These details help us prepare for the visit; they do not identify a failed part on their own. Stop using the oven if there is smoke, sparking, damaged wiring, cracked door glass or an unusual burning smell. Do not remove covers or attempt electrical tests.

Our repair scope and warranty route

We assess electric Smeg oven faults subject to model and safe access. If a freestanding cooker also has gas burners, give us the full model and tell us which section has failed so we can confirm whether the electric oven work is within our scope. We do not repair gas components or perform gas work, fixed electrical work or installations. For a gas fault, use a suitably licensed gas technician.

Diagnosis, quote and price

Choose an available booking time and provide the model and fault details. At the visit, the technician assesses the appliance and explains the findings. We quote parts and any further labour after diagnosis, and you decide whether to proceed. Parts availability, repair suitability and any return visit depend on the model and fault.

The estimated callout charge is $219, including up to 30 minutes of labour onsite. Parts and further labour are additional and quoted after diagnosis. All prices are estimates only. A $20 senior, pensioner or student discount may apply. Parts supplied and installed by us carry a 12-month warranty.
