Is your electric stove not heating, cooking unevenly or showing a control fault? Always Prompt Repairs diagnoses faults in electric stoves, ovens and cooktops across Greater Brisbane, Ipswich and the northern Gold Coast. Tell us the appliance brand and model, what happened and whether the fault affects the oven, a cooktop zone or both. Book a stove repair online to see the available appointments.
Our team is based in Underwood and has repaired household appliances since 2009. We repair appliance faults; we do not service gas appliances, install stoves or carry out fixed electrical work. If you are unsure whether the issue is with the appliance or the home wiring, describe the symptoms when you book so the request can be assessed.
Electric stove faults we assess
- Oven not heating or heating unevenly: a failed element, temperature control, fan or sensor may be involved. The correct cause depends on the model and testing.
- Cooktop zone not heating: a ceramic, radiant or induction zone may fail to start, heat inconsistently or display an error. Note the affected zone and any code.
- Controls or display not responding: switches, touch controls, clocks and timers can stop a stove from operating as expected.
- Door and seal problems: a door that will not close properly or a damaged seal can affect oven cooking performance.
- Unexpected shutdowns: record when the appliance stops and whether another household circuit is affected. Repeated safety-switch trips need a suitable professional assessment.
A fault description helps us prepare, but it does not identify a failed part on its own. The technician explains the diagnosis and the options before further repair work.
What to check before booking
Check that the correct cooking mode and temperature are selected, and look for a timer, control lock or error message in your model’s user manual. If just one zone is affected, note which one. Have a photo of the model label and any displayed code ready. Please do not remove appliance covers or attempt internal electrical repairs.
If the glass is cracked, you smell burning, see smoke or sparks, or the safety switch trips repeatedly, stop using the appliance. Do not keep resetting the circuit or testing the damaged zone. Tell us about the safety concern when you request an appointment.
How a stove repair visit works
- Book: enter the appliance type, brand, model if known, suburb and symptoms through our online booking page. Available appointment options are shown there.
- Diagnosis: a technician assesses the appliance and explains the likely cause and repair options. Some faults need model-specific parts or further testing.
- Approval: we quote parts and further labour after diagnosis. You decide whether to proceed before that work starts.
Stove repair cost
The estimated callout is $219 and includes up to 30 minutes of labour onsite. Parts and further labour are additional and quoted after diagnosis. All prices are estimates only. A $20 senior, pensioner or student discount may apply. Parts supplied and installed by us carry a 12-month warranty.
Oven or cooktop only?
For an oven-only problem, see our oven repair service. For a failed electric cooking zone or touch control, see cooktop repairs and our induction cooktop service. These pages help you describe the fault; you can use the same booking form for the repair request.
Stove repair questions
Do you repair gas stoves?
No. We repair electric stoves and relevant electric cooktop and oven appliance faults. Gas appliance work needs an appropriately licensed provider.
Can the stove be repaired on the first visit?
That depends on the fault, testing and whether the correct model-specific part is available. We explain the diagnosis and quote any further work before it proceeds.
How soon can I book?
Appointment availability changes. Check the live options on our booking page or call (07) 3062 2377.
