Westinghouse dishwasher not draining, leaking, failing to start or leaving dishes dirty? Our Underwood-based team diagnoses Westinghouse dishwashers across Greater Brisbane, Ipswich and the northern Gold Coast. Tell us the model number and exact fault or display code when you book online; we check the appliance before quoting further work.
What the symptom can tell us
Water remains after a cycle
First check that the cycle has actually finished. If your model’s instructions allow it, switch the machine off and inspect the user-accessible filter. Westinghouse lists clogged filters and a blocked or twisted drain hose as possible causes of water left in the machine. A pump or drainage fault needs diagnosis rather than a part selected from the symptom alone. See our dishwasher drainage guide.
Dishes are still dirty
Note whether residue is on every load or only certain items. Westinghouse’s dishwasher instructions list loading, detergent amount, programme choice, filters and spray-arm obstruction among checks for food remaining on dishes. A persistent problem can also involve the wash or heating system; we test the model before recommending a repair. Read our poor-cleaning guide.
Water leaks or the machine stops
Stop using a leaking dishwasher and turn off its water supply if you can safely reach the tap. Photograph where the water first appears, without pulling out an integrated appliance or removing panels. The source may be at the door, a connection or inside the machine; the visible puddle does not identify a failed part.
Door, start and error-code problems
Check the door is fully closed and whether a delay-start setting is active. Westinghouse’s support lists both checks for a programme that will not start. Record the exact code and model: Westinghouse’s current support identifies F1 as overflow and F2 as an inability to discharge water, while code interpretation can differ across models and manuals. For F1, turn off the water tap and arrange service. Our F1 guide explains the overflow route.
What to send with your booking
- Model number from the dishwasher label or purchase paperwork.
- The exact error code or flashing-light pattern, if one appears.
- Whether it drains, fills, starts and finishes a cycle.
- Whether water is leaking and whether the machine is integrated into cabinetry.
These details help assess service scope, access and parts availability. View available times and book a Westinghouse dishwasher diagnosis; an appointment does not guarantee a first-visit repair.
Pricing and warranty route
The standard callout is an estimated $219 and includes up to 30 minutes of labour onsite. Parts and further labour are additional and quoted after diagnosis, before further work. All prices are estimates only. A $20 senior, pensioner or student discount may apply. Parts supplied and installed by us carry a 12-month warranty, subject to the repair terms.
We assess out-of-warranty Westinghouse dishwasher repairs subject to model and parts availability. If your appliance may be within a manufacturer warranty, contact Westinghouse first to confirm coverage and the claim route. Faults outside warranty terms may attract standard charges.
Frequently asked questions
Does F2 always mean the drain pump has failed?
No. Westinghouse describes F2 as an inability to discharge water. A filter, drain path or installation issue may also be involved. We check the model and fault before quoting any replacement part.
Can an older Westinghouse dishwasher be repaired?
We can assess it, but the decision depends on the model, condition, fault and parts availability. We explain the diagnosis and quote before further work so you can decide whether repair makes sense.
How much will it cost?
The callout estimate is $219 including up to 30 minutes onsite. Further labour and parts are additional and quoted after diagnosis. All prices are estimates until confirmed for your job.
