ASKO Dishwasher F10 Error Code — Overfilling Fault Repair in Brisbane

ASKO dishwasher showing F10? Here’s what’s happening.

Your ASKO dishwasher has stopped and the display is showing F10 (or the status light is flashing red). According to the ASKO DW90 service manual, F10 is an overfilling fault — the machine has detected too much water inside the wash chamber, either through the pressure sensor or because the float switch in the base has been activated.

When F10 triggers, the dishwasher attempts to drain the excess water using the drain pump. If the water level hasn’t returned to normal within 60 seconds, the programme stops completely.

Important: Error codes can vary between ASKO dishwasher models and production years. The F10 definition above applies to the DW90 series (DW90.1, DW90.2, DW90.3). Your specific model may display F10 for a slightly different reason. Always cross-check with your model’s user manual if available.

If you’d like a qualified technician to diagnose and repair it, book online or call (07) 3062 2377. We service ASKO appliances across Brisbane, Ipswich and the Northern Gold Coast.

What does F10 mean on an ASKO dishwasher?

The F10 code indicates an overfill condition. This can be triggered by two separate sensors:

  • Pressure sensor: A sensor connected to the bottom drain measures the water level in the machine. If the pressure reading exceeds the normal operating range for five consecutive seconds, the machine identifies an overfill and activates the drain pump.
  • Float switch (overflow guard): A mechanical float in the base of the machine rises if water leaks onto the bottom plate. This activates a micro switch that breaks the circuit to the control unit, starts the drain pump, interrupts the programme and signals F10.

In both cases, the machine’s response is the same: drain the water and stop the programme. If the overfill is caused by a leak rather than a sensor fault, there may be water visible under or around the machine.

Things you can check yourself

  1. Check for visible water leaks. Look under and around the dishwasher for any signs of water. If the base tray is wet, the float switch has likely been triggered by a leak. Mop up any standing water and tilt the machine slightly back to help drain the base tray.
  2. Inspect the drain hose. Make sure the drain hose isn’t kinked, crushed, or blocked where it connects to the sink waste or drain pipe. A blocked drain can cause water to back up into the machine.
  3. Clean the filters. Remove the bottom rack and take out the cylindrical mesh filter and the flat filter beneath it. Rinse both thoroughly. A badly blocked filter can interfere with normal water circulation and drainage.
  4. Check the inlet valve. If the inlet valve is leaking (allowing water in when it should be closed), the machine will overfill. Listen for water trickling into the machine when no programme is running. If you hear water entering, turn off the tap supplying the dishwasher and call a technician.
  5. Reset and test. Turn the dishwasher off at the wall for at least 30 seconds. Turn it back on and run a short programme. If F10 returns immediately, the underlying cause hasn’t been resolved.

When to call a technician

If F10 keeps returning after checking for leaks and clearing the filters, the problem is likely one of the following:

  • Faulty inlet valve — allowing water to enter when it shouldn’t be
  • Faulty pressure sensor — misreading the water level
  • Faulty flow meter — not correctly measuring water intake
  • Internal leak — from hose connections, the door seal, or the wash sump

All of these require a technician to diagnose and repair. The ASKO DW90 service manual specifies checking the drain pump, flow meter, inlet valve, internal leaks and cabling as the diagnostic steps for F10.

What to expect from our service

Our standard callout fee is $219, which includes the first 30 minutes of labour and a full diagnostic. If additional time is required, it’s charged at $45 per 15 minutes. Parts are quoted separately at the time of repair. We offer a $20 discount for seniors, pensioners and students.

Warranty repairs: ASKO dishwashers typically come with a manufacturer warranty. If your machine is still under warranty, customers need to log a warranty job with ASKO/Electrolux first. They will assign an authorised service agent in your area.

Return visits: If a follow-up visit is required for the same fault, our return visit fee is $29 plus parts and labour. We’ll provide a fixed price quote before proceeding with any repair.

All repairs come with a 12-month parts and labour warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reset my ASKO dishwasher F10 error?

You can clear the display by turning the dishwasher off at the wall for 30 seconds. However, if the overfill condition hasn’t been resolved (e.g. a leaking inlet valve or a stuck float switch), F10 will return on the next cycle.

Is the F10 error covered under ASKO warranty?

If your ASKO dishwasher is within the manufacturer warranty period, the repair may be covered. Customers need to log a warranty job with ASKO (now part of Electrolux) first. They will assign an authorised repairer in your area.

What does it cost to fix F10?

Our callout is $219 including the first 30 minutes and a complete diagnostic. Part costs depend on what’s causing the overfill — inlet valves, pressure sensors, and flow meters vary in price. We’ll provide a quote before proceeding.

Is water under my ASKO dishwasher dangerous?

Water near electrical connections can be a safety risk. If you see a significant amount of water pooling under or behind the dishwasher, turn off the machine at the wall and the water supply at the tap. Do not use the machine until the leak source has been identified and repaired.

Do you repair ASKO dishwashers on the Gold Coast?

We cover the Northern Gold Coast — Coomera, Helensvale, Hope Island, Pimpama, Ormeau and Nerang. We do not currently service the southern Gold Coast. We don’t repair gas appliances.
