ASKO F12 Error Code — Water Inlet and Overfill Fault

An ASKO dishwasher showing F12 has a water inlet problem — on the jobs we attend the machine often fills, and water still reaches the base. Book online at /book/ or call (07) 3062 2377.

What F12 means on an ASKO dishwasher

F12 is raised when the machine cannot reconcile the water going in with what it expects. A common presentation on our jobs is a machine that starts, fills audibly, and shows F12 while water continues to reach the base of the unit. It can also appear sporadically before becoming permanent.

What we find on Brisbane ASKO F12 jobs

Across the 20 ASKO F12 jobs our technicians attended in Brisbane in the 12 months to September 2026, the pressure sensor is named on six job records, the flowmeter and control board on four each, and the inlet valve on three. There is no single dominant part, which is why these are diagnosed on site rather than quoted over the phone. Models we have attended include the DBI253IB and DBI653IB.

What you can safely check first

  • Check the tap is fully open and the inlet hose is not kinked.
  • Clear the outlets and filters in the base of the tub — worth doing, though on our jobs it has rarely been the whole answer on its own.
  • Watch where the water goes. If you can see or hear water reaching the base of the machine, say so when you book; it changes what the technician brings.
  • Turn the machine off at the tap if water is pooling.

What the repair involves

A technician confirms the code, checks the inlet path and tests the pressure sensor, flowmeter and inlet valve before quoting a part. Because F12 can be intermittent, the machine is run through a cycle to reproduce it rather than being cleared and handed straight back.

Pricing

Our callout fee is $219, which includes the first 30 minutes of on-site labour and a full diagnosis. Parts are quoted separately before further work. Seniors, pensioners and students receive a $20 discount. Return visits are $29 plus parts and labour. All prices are estimates only.

If your machine is still inside the manufacturer’s warranty period, contact the manufacturer first to confirm how your repair should be handled.

Frequently asked questions

F12 comes and goes — is it still worth booking?

Yes. Intermittent F12 is common on these machines and generally becomes permanent. Diagnosing it while it is intermittent is easier than after water has caused other damage.

I also get F11 sometimes. Are they related?

They can appear on the same machine. Both sit in the water inlet and level area, and the technician will read what is actually stored rather than working from the display alone.
