What F11 means on an ASKO dishwasher

F11 is a drain fault. The machine expects the water to be gone by a certain point in the cycle; when it is not, the cycle halts and the code appears. It is one of the more recoverable codes on these machines, because a good share of them are an obstruction rather than a failed part.

What you can safely check first

Clear the filters in the base of the tub — coarse and fine — and rinse them under a tap.

Bail out standing water with a jug and a sponge before the technician arrives if you can — it makes the visit faster.

Frequently asked questions

I keep clearing it and F11 comes back. Why?

Because the obstruction is probably not where you are looking. On our jobs the blockage is often past the filters — in the drain hose or at the spigot under the sink — so cleaning the filters clears it briefly and it returns.

I also get F12 sometimes. Are they connected?

They can appear on the same machine. F11 sits on the drain side and F12 on the inlet side, and a technician will read what is actually stored rather than working from the display alone.

Can I run the dishwasher in the meantime?

No. It will not complete a cycle, and running it repeatedly with water in the base risks pushing water where you do not want it.
