Electrical thermal imaging is a great testing tool for us electricians. It allows us to see any changes to the surface temperature of electrical components. We can then take that information, further analyse it and prevent equipment failure.
Why thermal imaging is important?
If a part in your electrical system is giving off a great deal of heat, that’s a sure sign there’s a problem. On the face of things, your equipment seems to be working perfectly but thermal imaging enables us to detect changes in this surface temperature, predict faults and fix them before it’s too late.
Many insurance companies now require thermal imaging as part of a fire risk assessment.
