Waeco Fridge Repairs Ipswich
Ipswich’s Experienced Waeco & Dometic Fridge Repair Team
Your Waeco fridge has picked the worst time to die — they always do. Whether it’s a portable compressor unit that won’t start, a 12V fridge that worked last trip and is now warm, or a thermoelectric cooler that’s barely cooling, we service the Ipswich area and carry common Waeco/Dometic parts in our vans.
Important: Waeco rebranded to Dometic in 2017. Same fridges, same parts — different label. We repair both Waeco and Dometic-branded units.
We are not an authorised Dometic service agent, but our technicians have extensive hands-on experience with the full Waeco/Dometic portable fridge range.

Common Waeco & Dometic Fridge Faults
The most frequent issues we see with Waeco and Dometic portable fridges in the Ipswich area:
Compressor Won’t Start
The LED lights up but the compressor never kicks in — or it tries to start and cuts out within seconds. Common on CF and CFX series units. Usually a failed start relay, faulty control board, or low voltage protection tripping from a weak battery or poor 12V wiring.
Thermostat Not Regulating
The fridge runs but won’t hold the set temperature — too warm, runs non-stop, or freezes everything. Typically a faulty NTC temperature sensor, failed thermistor on the control board, or a deteriorated door seal allowing warm air in.
Fan Motor Failure
The compressor runs but cooling is poor. The condenser or evaporator fan has failed — worn bearings are the most common cause, especially in units stored in dusty sheds or on ute trays.
Door Seal Deterioration
Constant running, frost buildup, or condensation inside the cabinet. Sun exposure and permanent vehicle mounting accelerate seal degradation.
