Need cooktop repairs in Brisbane? We service induction, ceramic, and electric cooktops from all major brands. Whether it is a cracked glass surface, faulty element, or unresponsive touch controls, our technicians diagnose and repair on-site across Greater Brisbane.
Authorised Warranty Service for Cooktops
NEFF
We repair induction and ceramic-glass electric cooktops across Greater Brisbane, Ipswich, and the northern Gold Coast. Authorised warranty agents for Miele, Bosch, ASKO, and Neff — same factory training and parts supply as the manufacturer’s own service teams.
We don’t service gas cooktops. Anything involving the gas supply, regulator, or burner assembly is a licensed gas fitter’s job, not ours. Our cooktop work is electric only — induction and ceramic.
Cooktop Repairs Brisbane — How induction cooktops actually fail
Induction cooktops don’t have heating elements that wear out the way ceramic ones do — the heat is generated in the pan, not in the cooktop. So when an induction unit fails, the fault is almost always electronic. The most common patterns we see:
One zone stops working, the others are fine
The induction coil for that zone, the IGBT power transistor that drives it, or the control board section for that zone. We bench-test the components to identify which one rather than swapping the whole unit.
The whole cooktop is dead, no display, no fan
Power input fault. Could be the fuse on the input board, the mains termination at the cooktop, or the upstream circuit at the switchboard. We start at the wall and work in.
Display lights, fan running, but no heat from any zone
Usually the main control board or the relay that switches the cooking circuit. Less commonly, a thermal cut-out has tripped and won’t reset because of an underlying overheat cause.
Touch panel won’t respond, registers ghost touches, or locks itself out
Touch sensor or control board. Sometimes resolved with a clean and reset; sometimes a board replacement.
Boost mode kicks out, or the cooling fan won’t stop
NTC temperature sensor or cooling system fault. The cooktop is protecting itself from heat damage — we diagnose what’s actually heating up.
Error code on the display
Each manufacturer uses different code formats — Miele’s are different from Bosch’s are different from ASKO’s. We look up the code in the brand’s own service documentation before quoting any work.
How ceramic glass cooktops fail
Ceramic radiants are simpler — they have actual heating elements under the glass. Faults are usually mechanical or component-level, not electronic.
Cracked glass
Don’t use the cooktop. The elements sit directly under the crack. Replacement glass is available for most premium brands; lead time runs from days to a week or two depending on model.
A zone won’t heat or stays on at full power
Element failure or a stuck switch contact. Both common after long service life.
Whole cooktop won’t power up
Like induction — usually power input or main control. Same diagnostic approach.
Common Cooktop Repairs in Brisbane
A few quick checks that occasionally save a call-out:
Tripped breaker. Cooktops sit on a dedicated circuit, often 32-amp. Reset at the switchboard.
Induction-compatible cookware. Induction needs a ferrous (magnetic) base. Hold a fridge magnet to the bottom of the pan — if it sticks, the pan will work. Aluminium and most stainless without a magnetic base won’t heat.
Pan size relative to the zone. Pans much smaller than the zone can fail to trigger the heat sensor on some induction models. Centre the pan, try a different zone.
Spill or water on the touch panel. Liquid across the panel can register as continuous touch and lock the unit out. Power off at the wall for five minutes, dry thoroughly, switch back on.
If the fault persists after these, it’s internal and worth a diagnostic visit.
How we work
1. You book a 1-hour arrival window. Not a half-day block. We turn up on time with the right tools.
2. We diagnose using the manufacturer’s service interface. For Miele, Bosch, ASKO, and Neff we use the brand’s own diagnostic tool — same procedure their factory technicians use. Faster, more accurate, and if you have an in-warranty unit we can lodge the claim direct.
3. We give you a fixed price before any work starts. If a part needs ordering, we quote the lead time on the spot.
4. We fix it, test it, and clean up. Most jobs complete on the first visit when the part is common enough to be on the van. Genuine parts only.
