Fridge Repairs Brisbane — Common fridge faults we see

Running but not cold enough, or freezing food in the fridge section

Thermistor (the temperature sensor), evaporator fan, or thermostat. The fix is usually a part swap rather than a major job. We test the temperature differential at multiple points before quoting.

Compressor running constantly, fridge not getting cold

Refrigerant leak, defective compressor, or condenser blockage. Refrigerant work requires a licensed technician with an ARCtick licence — we have one. We diagnose with pressure gauges before opening the system.

Ice maker stopped or producing tiny cubes

Inlet valve, ice maker module, or water line freeze. Often a free fix once we identify the actual cause — the inlet valve is the most common but not the only one. Samsung ice makers have specific common faults worth knowing about.

Water dispenser not working or leaking

Door switch, dispenser solenoid, water line, or filter. Filters need replacing every 6 months on most models — if yours hasn’t been replaced in over a year, that’s the first thing to check.

Excessive ice build-up in the freezer

Defrost timer, defrost heater, or door seal. Ice build-up means the auto-defrost cycle isn’t running properly — usually a control board or heater fault.

Loud noise, knocking, or vibration

Compressor mounts, fan motor bearings, or condenser fan obstruction. Bearings can be replaced; mounts and motors are usually a swap.

Door not sealing properly, condensation on outside

Door gasket replacement. Genuine seals on stocked vans for common brands. For rare models, we order direct from the manufacturer.

You book online or call. We confirm a 1-hour arrival window. Your technician diagnoses the fault on site, gives you a fixed price before any work starts, and most jobs complete on the first visit using parts from the van.

For appliances under manufacturer warranty for brands we’re authorised by (Miele, Bosch, ASKO, Liebherr, Neff), we lodge the warranty claim direct with the manufacturer where applicable — no upfront cost for in-warranty repairs.

If an appliance isn’t worth repairing, we tell you straight rather than push the repair through.

Worth repairing or worth replacing?

A fridge under 8 years old with a non-compressor fault is almost always worth repairing — thermistors, fans, defrost components, and seals are inexpensive parts.
