A drain, spin, leak or door fault can have different causes across models. We check the symptom and model before recommending a repair, then explain the diagnosis and quote any parts and further labour.

Washing machine problems we diagnose

Washing machine won’t drain

Water left in the drum can have several causes, including a blocked filter, a drain-pump fault or an outlet-hose problem. If you can reach the filter at the bottom front of the machine, it is worth checking before you call — our washing machine not draining guide walks through the steps safely. If the pump itself has failed, we can explain the repair and quote the required part.

Washing machine won’t spin

A machine that washes but leaves clothes dripping wet has lost its spin. Possible causes include a load-balance fault or a drive component; the right check depends on the model. Repeated unbalanced-load errors on a top loader can also be suspension rods rather than the motor. Start with the quick checks in our washing machine not spinning guide, then book a technician if the problem keeps coming back.

Leaking onto the laundry floor

Door seals and hoses are possible leak points, but the source depends on the machine. A small puddle after every wash rarely fixes itself, and a slow leak can quietly wreck cabinetry and flooring. If water is escaping constantly, turn the taps off at the wall before anything else. Our washing machine leaking guide shows how to narrow down where the water is coming from before the technician arrives.

Banging, grinding or walking across the floor

A rumble that gets louder on spin usually means drum bearings are on the way out. A machine that rocks or shakes violently often just has an unbalanced load, uneven feet or — on a new machine — transit bolts still fitted. Bearings are one of the bigger washing machine repairs, and on some models the job is not worth doing; we tell you straight either way. Our washing machine making noise guide covers what each sound means.

Won’t turn on, or the door won’t lock

No lights at all can be a power, lid-switch or control-board fault — our washing machine won’t turn on page covers the safe checks. If the machine powers up but refuses to start, the door interlock is the usual suspect on front loaders; it is used every single wash and wears out accordingly. See washing machine door won’t lock for the tell-tale signs. We confirm the fault before quoting an interlock or other repair.

Smells musty even after a wash

A mouldy smell that transfers to your clothes is usually scrud — a build-up of detergent and softener residue in the outer drum — or mould in the door-seal fold. A hot maintenance wash and a seal wipe-down help; a smell that keeps returning can mean the drain system is holding water. Our washing machine smells guide covers what actually works, and what is a waste of money.

Error code on the display (Bosch E-codes, Miele F-codes, Samsung UE/4E, LG OE/LE)

Each manufacturer codes faults differently. We look up the specific code before quoting work. Samsung UE = unbalanced load. LG LE = motor lock. LG OE = drain. Check the exact model and displayed code against the manufacturer’s guidance before booking.

How we work

You book online or call and we confirm the available arrival window. The estimated $219 callout includes up to 30 minutes of labour onsite for diagnosis. We explain the fault and quote parts and any further labour before further work. All prices are estimates only.

For Miele warranty claims you can contact us directly — we’re an authorised Miele agent and just need a copy of your purchase invoice. For Bosch, ASKO, Liebherr and Neff, contact the manufacturer first to register the claim; as their authorised agent we’re then dispatched to carry out the repair. Out-of-warranty, book directly with us.

If an appliance isn’t worth repairing, we tell you straight rather than push the repair through.

Frequently asked questions

How much does washing machine repair cost in Brisbane?

Our estimated $219 callout includes up to 30 minutes of labour onsite. Parts and any further labour are additional and quoted after diagnosis, before further work. All prices are estimates only. A $20 senior, pensioner or student discount may apply. Parts supplied and installed by us carry a 12-month warranty.

Can I book after hours?

Yes. Our office team answers 7am–4:30pm Monday to Friday. After hours, Ava — our phone booking assistant — answers (07) 3062 2377 and confirms real appointment bookings on the spot, so you can lock in a time tonight instead of waiting for the morning.

Can you fix my washing machine today?

Same-day appointments may be available. Tell us the brand, model and fault when you book so we can check availability and plan the visit.

Should I repair or replace my washing machine?

That depends on the diagnosed fault, the machine’s age and condition, parts availability and the cost of a comparable replacement. We explain the repair quote so you can decide.

Do you repair both front loaders and top loaders?

Yes — front loaders, top loaders and washer-dryer combos across all major brands. The faults differ: door interlocks and bearings on front loaders; lid switches, clutches and agitators on top loaders. The diagnostic visit is the same either way.

Will you have the parts on board?

Part availability depends on the model and diagnosis. If a part is needed, we explain the option and quote it before further work.
